TripAdvisor: earnings report on August 5

What will happen?
TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel platform, will present its earnings report for the second quarter on August 5 at 23:00 MT (GMT+3). The release will be followed by an investor conference call on August 6 at 15.30 MT.
What to expect?
Analysts expect 50% quarter to quarter revenue growth as during summertime people traveled a lot, despite the pandemic cases growth. In 2020 the number of travelers around the world dropped by 74% comparing with 2019. This fact made heavy damage to the tourism sector. By summer 2021 the picture has changed as almost every country removed pandemic restrictions. People rushed to the resorts of Turkey, Greece, Egypt, etc. This tendency will bring a positive effect to the Q2 TripAdvisor’s financial statement.

4H chart
On the 4H chart, several factors are telling us the price is about to turn around:
- The bullish divergence on MACD.
- RSI crossed the 57.3 line, which was resistance during the period of price fall.
- The price crossed the 50-period moving average and got close to the 100-period one.
Combined with the fundamental factors this makes us bullish about the future of TripAdvisor’s stock price in a short term period. The targets are $45 and $47.
